Connecticut Man Fatally Stabs Ex Girlfriend on Valentine's Day

Tiana Notice, a communications student, finishing her graduate degree at the College of Hartford, was dating James Carter II, a 31-year-old man from New Britain, Connecticut. In 2008 Tiana's relationship with James went South and Tiana decided to break up with him. James was not happy about this. Like, by any stretch of the imagination. He went somewhat nuts.

Tiana even took out a restraining order against James, yet that wasn't enough to stop him.

As per Tiana's mom, Kathy Lewis, the most recent long periods of her daughter's life were "shocking." She said, "James threatened Tiana and she begged the police to do something." However, when the police did nothing, Tiana had her dad set up a security camera outside of her condo. That security camera recorded Tiana's screaming as James stabbed her outside of her condo. The security camera also caught her attempts to flee from her executioner, however, the stabbing itself was not seen on film.

Tiana had called 911 and disclosed to them that her ex had quite recently wounded her and she was bleeding to death. The jury viewed both the 911 call and the security camera's video. Tiana's father also showed a lyric of Tiana's.

The lyric titled, "Section Shut," was tied in with leaving James. She expounded on being discharged from his "temper, torment, dangers, personality, enviously and instability." "An unfilled house in isolation is the means by which he will spend his days," she composed. "What's more, I rest guaranteed in knowing: I'm wonderful, shrewd, and on my way!"

James received a sentence of 60 years in jail, and his murder case helped impact changes to the state's aggressive behavior towards home laws.
