"Ketchup is everywhere," Says 4-Year-Old After Witnessing Mother's Murder

Ignacia Manriquez and Juan Manuel Navarro had three children together. Despite this, Juan suddenly ended their relationship in 1993. Everything was typical at first. Ignacia even stayed neighborly with her ex for the children. Juan later had a change of heart and wanted to get back together with Ignacia. When Ignacia declined to take him back, Juan chose to murder her.

The San Bernardino Province representative lead prosecutor who arraigned the case, Margaret Bevan, said Juan came to Ignacia's family home, where one of the children allows him to come in because he's their father. Ignacia and Juan erupt into a fight.

At that point, Juan tailed Ignacia and the children to a nearby strip mall, where the two wound up arguing in a parking area.

Bradford Montgomery witnessed the couple fighting close to the vehicle. He reported seeing Ignacia crying. At that point, he saw Navarro pull out a firearm and shoot her head at point clear range. She was also shot in the stomach as she fell, of course on the two sides of her head after she had dropped to the ground authorities reported. Juan first fired at her head in point blank range, then in the stomach twice, and finally in the head twice more.

Mr. Montgomery was by all account not the only one to witness the murder; Juan murdered Ignacia in view of their 4-year-old child Juanito. Juan grabbed the child and kept running with him; a mysterious individual dropped Juanito (the child) off at a relative's home 17 days after the event. When police met the young child and asked about what happened, he stated, "Ketchup is everywhere." As indicated by his close relative, the young child, now 22 continues and will always carry the weight of what he witnessed that day.

He is extremely shaky, precarious and experiences uneasiness.

He didn't complete secondary school regardless of how much his grandparents and family encouraged him. Relatives say he couldn't get past the trauma of the shooting.

Juan took off to Mexico, where he was able to hide for 19 years. Juan was located in May of 2012. He was prosecuted for the murder of Ignacia and was sentenced to 30 years to life for the murder of the mother of his children.
